Equine Touch Foundation (ETF) created a professional route for our students who wish to practice ET on professional level as an ET Practitioners.

The ET Practitioner Route is a robust and thorough training programme designed to produce dedicated and professionally trained Equine Touch Practitioners who are equipped to present the Equine Touch  modality to the public with professionalism and to the high standards of proficiency that the Equine Touch Foundation (ETF) require.

Students on the Practitioners Route will need to fulfill certain criteria. The Practical Assessments are milestones for ETF to ascertain that students are gaining the correct understanding of the training given by reaching a standard for that level.  They are considered part of your education process and, together with the written elements, are a necessary part for this professional route.

Interested students will receive Practitioner Route Informational Guide that is designed to provide them with full information about this route of study to enable them to make an informed choice about whether study to Practitioner level is right for them. Students can switch between the two educational routes – Horse Owner and Practitioner Route.

In the UK an ET Instructor is nominated as the Practitioner Route (PR) Mentor.  Their main role is to provide encouragement, support and advice to Students and act as a focal point for information flow between ETF, Instructors and Students.

Each country has slightly different requirements, due to the differences in legislation. Contact the lead person in each country and ask to be sent their current guide.

As an ET practitioner there are ongoing requirements to maintain the qualification. Once qualified, all Practitioners are required by ETF to:

  • Practice within the terms of the Practitioner licence and trademark agreement
  • Maintain appropriate insurance and provide evidence of such
  • Maintain practitioner membership of IETA, the International Equine Touch Association (the Professional Association for students and practitioners of Equine Touch Foundation modalities)
  • Meet the requirements for Ongoing Professional Development and provide evidence of such
  • Accept that strict adherence to the ETF Code of Ethics must be at the core of the practice at all times
  • Accept that it is the sole responsibility of the Practitioner to ensure they always work within the legal/regulatory requirements of their country of practice
